I have come across individuals in books, art, performance, records, film,
and occasionally in person,
who have had a great impact on my thoughts and life. These people or
groups of people have created objects, idea, or processes that have
deep meaning embodied in innovative form, and have executed them with
virtuosity.
At some point I have half-jokingly
referred to each of them as “one of my heroes,”
but I’ve always
shied away from setting them down. The list changes over months and years.
With luck exposing them in such a flexible medium will keep the list
from becoming calcified (and with it my outlook and focus).
